The Catalyst for Change
Like many women, my journey has been filled with twists and turns. After marrying my supportive husband, I quickly embraced the role of a mother to my two boys, now aged five and seven. The transition into motherhood was both exhilarating and challenging. I found myself in a whirlwind of diaper changes, late-night feedings, and the endless joy that comes with watching my children grow.
However, amid the joy, I also faced the inevitable struggles of balancing family life and my personal aspirations. I felt the pressure to be the perfect mom while also wanting to pursue my dreams. I remember feeling isolated at times, unsure of where to turn for support and guidance. It was during this period that I realized the importance of community and connection among women.
I envisioned a space where women could come together, share their experiences, and empower one another. This vision became the driving force behind the creation of the Professional Women's Meetup. I wanted to create a platform where women could connect, collaborate, and cultivate meaningful relationships, ultimately fostering a spirit of entrepreneurship and leadership.
A Journey Through Self-Discovery
As I navigated the challenges of motherhood, I also went through a profound journey of self-discovery. I found myself questioning who I was beyond being a wife and mother. Transitioning from in-person events to an online network across Ontario, the U.S., and globally was a significant step, but it allowed us to connect with even more women who share the same drive and ambition.

Balancing Motherhood and Entrepreneurship
